I write poems to entertain

They also help to keep my brain

From turning into a pile of goo

Which, let’s be honest, it might still do

It hasn’t had much use ‘til now

Hence my poems aren’t highbrow

But I hope someone, somewhere, some day

Will discover them and maybe say

“That poet was a pioneer

What a shame she’s not still here”!
