Don’t Tell Me Your Secret

D
on’t tell me your secret, it’s a burden I can’t bare
Secrets disconcert me, I get a burning need to share
Find someone more judicious, with more integrity
Your secret won’t be safe you see - tell anyone but me

They wouldn’t need to torture me to make me spill the beans
Secrets pour out easily, I’m leaky at the seams
I hate that I’m a blabbermouth, I don’t mean to betray
When I let the cat out I feel wretched with dismay

So take this as a warning
please be prudent, please take heed
If you insist on telling me
your secret will be freed!
